California Resources Corporation (CRC) has a strong commitment to health and safety. We work actively to reduce hazards in our operations by setting consistent expectations in our job planning and contractor selection, empowering and training our workforce as safety leaders, and supporting them with safe work practices, technology and rigorous maintenance and asset integrity programs.
Applying the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s Injury and Illness Incidence Rate (IIR), which measures the rate of recordable injuries per 100 full-time workers, our employees and contractors achieved their three best-ever safety performance ratings from 2013 to 2015. Our 2015 IIR of 0.54 was less than one-sixth the 2014 average IIR for private industry as reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. In addition, our employees earned the National Safety Council’s Occupational Excellence Achievement Award for their exemplary safety performance in 2015 across our statewide operations.
