Workforce Development

California Resources Corporation’s (CRC’s) commitment to workforce development focuses both on the recruiting and professional development of talented individuals to work in our business and on expanding opportunities for residents of the communities where we operate.

CRC sponsors a variety of scholarship, internship and training programs that encourage students and adults from disadvantaged communities to pursue careers in oilfield operations, construction trades or science, technology, engineering or mathematics including:

  • Internships in Bakersfield for graduating high school seniors from San Diego, Taft and Los Angeles through the CIPA Energy Academy and Taft Oil Technology Academy
  • Vocational internships in Long Beach for students from Los Angeles Trade Tech
  • Endowed scholarships or internships for students attending California State Universities near our operations
  • Oilfield training program for adults considering work in the oil and gas industry with Concerned Citizens of South Central and the Bakersfield Homeless Center
  • Support for the USC Veterans Scholarship Fund for those transitioning from military service
  • Sponsoring the Los Angeles County Economic Development Forum focusing on South Los Angeles and participant in workforce initiatives in Bakersfield, Long Beach and Ventura.
